COVID- 19 UPDATE with regards our Meetings, Events, Workshops and Social Days.
We’ve been monitoring and sought advice with regards to COVID-19 from governing bodies.
Our gatherings are small and well below the limits for events requiring cancellation. With that being said, there’s no denying that recent COVID-19 developments are having a direct impact on our global and local community. The health and wellbeing of our members is our highest priority. Being mindful of hygiene is imperative, and we will ensure that any space we use is sanitised and cleaned appropriately. Of course, each individual must be responsible for their safety and make their own decisions accordingly.
During this time, as a community, we have a responsibility to those that need us to remain operational. And, respect those who have decided not to attend events and workshops at this time.
If you have any flu-like symptoms, please seek advice and stay at home until you are well again! for updated information visit The Australian Government Department of Health website where you will find links to all the latest information.

Why come to our Casual Painting Group?
Painting watercolour gives you pleasure and great satisfaction, and as a group, it’s just a fun thing to do. You will enjoy learning from each other while sharing ideas and experiences. It is a very social morning and a way to chat about your work, find out what other activities are happening and learn from others while enjoying your own “zone”.
Come and try it, you’ll love it. It’s casual painting, so come when it suits or when you feel like a morning painting with others. Morning tea is a specialty!
It is also possible to arrange lessons by appointment.
While you are on our website why not take a looks at other workshops and classes we are running.
Tickets are not available for sale any more for this event!

St Helena Island Social Day
The Watercolour Society of Queensland will be having a social day at St Helena Island. Includes morning tea, delicious lunch and guided tour.
To start with you will board the Cat O’ Nine Tails Cruisers from Northshore Hamilton Pontoon is at 9:00 am. They are returning approximately 3:00 pm.
Of course, St Helena Island forms part of the Moreton Bay and Pumicestone Passage. Specifically, it is 5 km from the mouth of the Brisbane River and about 8km north-east of Manly.
This picturesque Island has a turbulent history. Such as the site of Queensland’s first penal settlement. Consequently, its most significant period was when it functioned as a high-security colonial prison from 1867. For more than 60 years, St Helena was the place of imprisonment for hundreds of outcasts. The Island is now heritage listed and is a National Park.
We will be guided on a historical adventure of the Island. From the Aboriginal beginnings to the Nineteenth Century prison Settlement. With its sometimes sad but often funny stories.
