Topic: Water Changes How and What we see in Nature
Water, whether en mass in the ocean/rivers or suspended in the air as mist or cloud, has the ability to change what we can see and how it looks.
Two day Workshop with Ev Hales;
Day 1. Looking at what happens when water is moving, en mass, in the landscape.
Rivers, waterfalls, and ocean waves all depict water moving as a mass through a scene. We will explore how water can carve out its path and be a contrast to other areas in a landscape. The background to moving water can vary from soft lush foliage by a river bank to harsh rock formations at the beach.
Day 2: The more elusive character of water suspended in the air. This is especially noticeable in mountainous regions where mist or cloud can obliterate huge mountain peaks or reveal them, at will. This day will be about mood, nuanced colour and edge quality.
To explore these 2 opposite facets we will need a sheet of rough or CP (Bockingford CP is great for this subject) and a sheet of HP. More if you paint fast.
