Watercolour Society Annual Sale

This is a year (2020) when things have to be done differently within our Society due to Covid 19. It’s not all doom and gloom for our artists, as some amazing Watercolour Paintings have been done during this time.  

The usual Watercolour Annual Exhibition held for the past 34 years will this year be different.  It will be called a Watercolour Society Annual Sale.  The difference being there will be no judging and no Prizes. The best of the best of our Watercolour Artists will display their work for sale to Art lovers and enthusiasts to purchase.   
The Watercolour Annual Sale is for our members to display and have the opportunity to SELL their artwork.  
There will be a People’s Choice competition.  This gives the people visiting the exhibition a chance to have their say and vote for their favourite artwork.
There will be 2 categories.    The winner will receive
Category 1:   Traditional and Mixed medium – an unframed – matted painting
Category 2:   Tread Softly challenge:    3 Tread Softly bottles of wine.

Date:  November 2 – 10 October.  Location:  The Coro   28 McDougall Street.  MILTON

Date:        

  • Delivery paintings on Monday 2nd November
  • Hang the work on 3rd November.  
  • Open to Public on Wednesday 4th November till Tuesday 10th November
Opening times: 10 am – 4 pm

Extended time on Friday 6th – until 8 pm. For a cocktail/wine and cheese event to include a silent auction on 6 pieces of pre-selected paintings. – donated by artists and funds going to the Under 30’s Emerging artists sponsorship.

Entry Fee:      

  • Framed paintings up to ½ size.  $10.
  • Framed paintings ½ – 1/1 size $20
  • Unframed – matted.  $5

Commission:     NIL  

Marketing: We will advertise and promote the art sale similar to the previous years. We will use our new ‘Art Sale’ banner and other signage to catch the eye of the surrounding Commercial and residential art enthusiasts.

We will have the run of the spacious top floor to ourselves.

Plus, there is the drawcard of the Café to bring people in.
