This work is one of a series created from my high rise apartments overlooking views of the Brisbane River to the south, where on a clear day I can see as far as Mount Warning in New South Wales.
I began sketching an painting 'en plein air' from my windows during the extended 2020 lock downs and was captivated by the ever changing weather conditions and light playing over the panorama.
In February this yer a violent storm hit at sundown, rolling in over the distant mountains. This work captures the storm before it arrives in the city.
